In 2025, Pender County proudly celebrates its 150th anniversary, marking the founding of the county on February 16, 1875. To commemorate this milestone, we will be hosting a special celebration. As part of the festivities, we will be placing items in a time capsule that will be sealed and opened in 50 years at our bicentennial.

We invite all Pender County residents to share their ideas on what should be included in the time capsule. This is your chance to contribute a piece of Pender County’s history to be discovered in the future.
